Experience

Michael Lau’s practice focuses on corporate and commercial matters, including domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, disposals and corporate restructurings.

In 2018, Michael represents a consortium of purchasers in the acquisition of the property holding company of “The Center” at the purchase price of about HK$40,200,000,000. The transaction was awarded “2018 Deals of the Year” by the China Business Law Journal and “Debt Market Deal of the Year” Award in the Macallan ALB Hong Kong Law Awards 2018.

Michael also has extensive experience in advising on funds set up, notes and bonds issuance, pre-IPO investments, and syndicated loan and refinancing transactions.
