Our Consultant Mr Joshua Chu and our Partner Mr Michael Szeto have co-written an article entitled “Is it Still Bigamy if I [Legally] Married a Sex Doll in a Foreign Country Then Married a Human Being in Hong Kong Afterwards?” for the June 2021 issue of Hong Kong Lawyer, the official journal of the Law Society of Hong Kong.

Throughout the late 2010’s and early 2020’s, out worldly (unconventional) marriages have proven themselves to had gained momentum and became more of a commonplace. Such participants should, however, consider a number of legal issues especially where they elect to enter into any forms of subsequent nuptial relationships in jurisdictions which have different laws when compared to their place of origins.
