Our Consultant Mr Joshua Chu and our Partner Mr Michael Szeto have co-written an article entitled “The Evolution of Ransomwares (Hackers Now Target Internet Connected Chastity Belts, USTD’s Warning Against Ransom Payments and Legal Issues Victims Should Consider)” for the March 2021 issue of Hong Kong Lawyer, the official journal of the Law Society of Hong Kong.

With cyber-threats becoming ever more prevalent in our society, this article will examine the latest developments in the realm of ransomware and provide a quick guide to victim on ‘do’s and don’ts’ victims should consider when they find themselves trapped (quite possibly physically) by ransomwares.
